In this clip Quinn Hughes shows how to defend against a 2 vs 1 rush. The overall goal as the defender is to not let the puck cross your goalie's eyes. This way the goalie can fully commit to the shooter.
What to Watch
- As the defender approaches Hughes takes away the pass across with his stick
- He tries to bait the puck carrier by faking that he is attacking but it is just a game to try and get him to try and make the pass
- When the pass is made Quinn's blade is flat on the ice and he is able to go stick on puck to knock it away
