Tight Gap Leads to Zone Entry Denial and Turnover by Penguins

Tight gaps make it tough for the attacking team to gain the zone. In this clip the Pittsburgh Penguins have a tight gap causing a turnover which leads to a goal.

What to Watch

  • As the Stars transitions out of their own zone the Penguins Defense set a strong gap at the offensive blue line
  • The Penguins D squeeze control of the middle of the ice while squeezing the puck carrier
  • They declare stick in front and challenge the puck carrier
  • Play is disputed and puck turned over prior to the red line
  • The Penguins quickly transition the puck and attacks leading to a goal
