A lot of youth hockey players try one-timers without much success. In this clip you can watch great fundamentals of the one-timer slap shot by Byram.

What to Watch

• He uses body language to call for the puck.
• He doesn't commit to the one-timer until he know the puck is place between his feet.
• He creates an enormous amount of flex by pushing into the ice with his left hand and pulling with his right hand (look at the flex of the stick).
• He only takes the stick back a little bit past his waist, it is not a full back swing
