Harley Overspeed Progression Drill

Get Full Access

The Harley Overspeed Progression Drill: Part 1 & Part 2 is a great drill from Topher Scott that helps players handle and pass the puck in overspeed situations.

Part 1 Setup

  • Players line up evenly by the neutral zone faceoff circles.
  • On the whistle, two skaters from opposite corners (Blue F1 & Red F1) begin skating around the center ice circle without the puck.
  • As the players get to center ice (around the circle) they receive a puck from the second player in the line that is diagonal from them (Pass # 1).
  • They then skate around the circle and pass to the second player in the line they came from (Pass # 2).
  • Then they open up to receive a pass back (Pass # 3) and skate down to fire a shot on net.
