DRW Fwd Split

DRW Fwd Split
By: Dwayne Blais
  1.  Under Pressure Shooting
    • Coach chips puck to wall.  Fwd 1 retrieves puck under soft pressure while protecting and attacking offensive zone. Fwd 1 will attack fwd who is waiting in slot and adds random pressure to fwd 1.  Fwd 1 will read pressure and find shooting lane by changing angle of puck, cutting inside/outside, etc.  Once shot is taken fwd who added pressure will then head to weak side corner to retrieve soft chipped puck from coach and will attack Fwd 1 off wall and read off Fwd 1 pressure to find shooting lane by using angle change, cut back, etc.
  2. Wall to Middle Shooting
    • Fwd 1 will skate around cone and attack zone.  Coach will long rim a puck and fwd 1 will scan, shoulder check and pick up rim to hit fwd 2 who delayed from line and attacked as late support.  Fwd 2 will either catch and release quick or catch and change angle of puck around obstacle (if necessary).  After shot fwd 2 will head to far corner and pick up soft chip from coach while scanning to find fwd 1 who has supported and will try to pick up pass from Fwd 2 with quick catch and release shot on net.
