Surf Up To Deny Exit by Manson

https://vimeo.com/857472154?share=copy

As the puck comes up the wall and is moved into the middle of the ice Colorado's Jon Manson does a great job establishing an early gap as the weak side defenseman and surfs up onto his check.  He reads the play well and makes a good aggressive play which leads to a turnover and Colorado is able to attack the offensive zone again.

What to Watch

  • Manson reads the play well and know's that his d-partner is backing up
  • Manson takes a good angle with proper body positioning and great stick detail
  • This allows him to close off and finish the play before it even starts with a good angle, his body and great stick
