Stretch and Go Flow w/ Backcheck

Get Full Access

This drill is a contiuation of the Stretch and Go Flow Drill that adds a backchecker to each repetition.  The drill works the same way but now the shooter will backcheck after stopping at the net.  It can be a great conditioning drill that incorporates passing and shooting.  Lines 1 & 2 will start at the goal line and lines 3 & 4 move up to the hash marks.  Each repetition begins on the whistle.

In this case P1 out of line 1 will start with the puck and skate up the wall.  At the same time P2 from line 3 will skate into the neutral zone and receive a pass from P1.  P2 carries the puck in wide and has to do a delay tactic while P1 hustles up ice into the zone.  P2 will then pass the puck to P1 in the high slot.  After the shot both players should end up at the net.  On the whistle the next two players from opposite corners start.  Now P1 has to backcheck and try to catch the player in the high slot before they shoot.
