Have Confidence In Building Your Own Drills

In the video above, Brad Flynn, Assistant Coach of the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), discusses building your own drills that transfer over to games.

These video clips shown were taking from Brad's presentation on Practice to Game Transfer - Skill Development at the Brock University High Performance Hockey Seminar. In the full presentation, Coach Flynn explains his process for creating drills that are applicable and relevant to the teams he coaches.

In the presentation, he explains how he uses video clips of games to see patterns in the game, and then he builds out drills. This strategy can be used for youth coaches all the way to NHL coaches. In the presentation he gives video examples on passing though the slot line, shooting quick after a pass, keeping head up, net front habits, picking pucks off of the boards, and more.
